The SCIRT Tight Five has sponsored the World Buskers Festival, which is in its 20thyear, for the last two years. This sponsorship has provided an opportunity for the Tight Five to do their bit in balancing the impact that they are having on the lives of the people of Christchurch as they rebuild the water supply, wastewater, stormwater and roading infrastructure across the city.
The SCIRT Tight Five, is made up of the Non Owner Participants of the Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team (SCIRT), City Care, Downer, Fletcher, Fulton Hogan and McConnell Dowell. The SCIRT Tight Five recognised that the people of Christchurch are ‘doing it tough’ and would benefit from some laughter and an opportunity to look at the lighter side of life.
The World Buskers Festival is the largest outdoor festival in New Zealand. Around 330, 000 people visit the festival over 11 days and 10 nights to see a wide range of performances including burlesque, acrobatics, stand-up comedy and children’s shows.
The sponsorship comes from the individual company sponsorship budgets and as such does not include any government or other public funding. The SCIRT Tight Five are proud, as the naming rights sponsor, to join the many other sponsors of this event in bringing this World Class Festival to the people of Christchurch and New Zealand.
QUOTE from Duncan Gibb, General Manager SCIRT
"The World Buskers Festival is a way for SCIRT’s five lead construction companies to remind us all how much we have in common and how much the city’s rebuild is something we are all part of."
