The infrastructure rebuild is a programme of projects underway to rebuild (repair or replace) our city’s horizontal infrastructure (roads, fresh water, wastewater and storm water systems and others) that were damaged by the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes and aftershocks.
Funding for the infrastructure rebuild is being provided through Christchurch City Council, Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) - now transferred to the Deparment of Prime Minister and Cabinet, and New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA).
SCIRT (Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team) is a partnership between Christchurch City Council, Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) - transferred to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet in April 2016, New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA), City Care, Downer, Fletcher Construction, Fulton Hogan, and McConnell Dowell.
