Staying safe
SCIRT has a culture of safety. Keeping the community, motorists and our workers safe is at the forefront of our activities and planning.
-
Zero Harm cultureWe believe all harm is preventable. We can only accept a target of zero for injury rates. A zero harm culture means we are always considering safety and acting safely.
-
Reducing risks on siteWe minimise on-site risks with a range of safety measures. These include barriers, hazard warnings, protective clothing, and traffic regulation.
-
Your safetyWork sites may be interesting to observe, but also present some risks to you and your family. You can help us to keep you safe as well by observing some simple common sense guidelines.
-
Recognising and rewardingWe encourage and recognise achievements in safety with a special awards programme, the Bill Perry Safety Award. We want this award to drive industry-wide improvements in safety culture and standards throughout New Zealand.
