What we are doing

McConnell Dowell as part of SCIRT continue to repair the earthquake damaged wastewater network in the Papanui, Bishopdale and Northcote area.

From as early as Monday 19 December 2016 we will return to re-seal the road where we have previously worked in Grampian Street and Claridges Road. This work should take a day to complete. This work is weather dependent. In the case of bad weather this work will be rescheduled for another day in the week.

A road closure will be in place for the section of Grampian Street and Claridges Road that we are working in (as shown on the map). This may mean there are detours in your regular travel routes. Please be mindful of this, plan your trips and allow extra time during peak traffic.

Resident Access

While these road closures are in place some residents will lose access to their driveways. You will be required to park further down the street and outside of the road closure so that you are not blocked in by our works. You may notice more vehicles parked in the street while this work is being completed. Please contact McConnell Dowell if you have any specific access requirements that we need to consider e.g. Nurse Maude, Meals on Wheels, or planned works on your property.

Traffic Impacts

We will do our best to keep traffic impacts down to a minimum. This means reducing our work site where possible and keeping you informed of our traffic plans. Please be aware of changes to the regular traffic patterns, obey all traffic signs and drive to the conditions.

Other impacts

As with any work of this nature there will be some noise, dust and vibrations. We will do our best to minimise these by using noise controls, spraying down the work site and using dust suppressing equipment during any cutting operations.

  • All works are subject to favourable weather and on-site construction conditions.
  • Our standard work hours are Monday to Friday between the hours of 7am and 6pm. We may also need to work on weekends to carry out essential work.

Safety is our number one priority. Safety is your responsibility too. Stay clear and stay alert—keep children and pets at a safe distance from the work site.
