Where we are working

What we are doing

As early as Sunday 22 January 2017, McConnell Dowell as part of SCIRT will begin resurfacing a section of Shirley Road between Quinns Road and Marshlands Road.

This work will take place at night between the hours of 6.00pm and 6.00am, subject to favourable
on-site and weather conditions.

We will remove the existing road surface, which is a noisy and dusty process. This process uses noisy machinery including jack hammers and a milling machine. You may experience vibrations similar to a small earthquake. We will do our best to keep disruption to a minimum.

Once the old road surface has been removed, we will prepare and lay the new road surface.

Due to the high volume of traffic during the day, we will need to complete this work at night.

Traffic impacts

Two-way traffic will be maintained between Quinns Road and Marshlands Road.

A road closure will be in place at the intersection of Hope Street and Shirley Road. Please see map.

There will be restricted vehicle access to properties between these hours, residents are asked to park further down the street if you do not want to be blocked in by our works.

We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we carry out this work.
