Esplanade – Sumner – Wastewater main replacement *update*
Our work on the wastewater main along Esplanade has been delayed as the horizontal drilling operation became ineffective in the ground conditions we experienced along the beach front. We have revised plan and resourced, we will continue work next week. The project is still expected to be finished August 2012.
This notice updates the information in the works notice "Esplanade – Sumner – Wastewater main replacement *update*" issued in March 2012. A further update was issued in May 2012

The red line shows the work still to be completed from between Menzies and Head Streets, and the corner of Clifton Terrace and Marriner Street.
The green line shows where the pipeline is finished from the parklands at the eastern end of The Esplanade, to between Menzies and Head Streets.

How our work could impact you
- The works will take place between 7.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
- The work may result in increased dust, noise and vibration levels because of underground drilling.
- Works will have no impact on current wastewater services.
- Access to properties for local residents will be maintained. Please contact us if you have any specific access requirements that we may need to consider.
Traffic and pedestrian impact
Works will impact on traffic movements. The two Esplanade traffic lanes will be maintained but the footpath on the sea side of Esplanade will be closed. Pedestrians will be diverted along the beach front promenade. The footpath along the property boundaries will be unaffected. On-street parking is not available on the sea side of the Esplanade in the immediate work zone.
