Retaining wall repairs

Road open

SCIRT has left St Davids Street!

Since July 2015 we have completed repairs to five retaining walls, and installed a new stormwater main near 70 St Davids Street. We know that it hasn't been easy, and we would like to thank you for your patience over the last year.

Since last July we have used over 200 cubic metres of concrete, and over 50 soil nails and anchors to complete the five retaining walls.

Storm water main installation

The storm water main was so badly damaged in the earthquake that it was necessary to replace the entire length of the pipe, affecting residents we were working directly in front of, and in some cases on their private property. We started this tricky project in February 2016 and completed it in stages to minimise the impact on residents at any given time.
